About us.
We have 25 years experience in the building trade, having run our own successful business doing extensions, renovations & conversions for the past 20 years.
Having met many customers who wished they could do small jobs on their own home instead of paying us to do it, we had the idea of setting up a DIY Training Academy.
Ever bought a power tool in the B&Q sale then not known what to do with it? We start there, teaching you what to buy and how to use it, to save you money.
How Can We Help?
Hey there, I’m Ben Woodcraft—yes, that’s my real name! I’ve spent over 25 years in the building trade, starting off as a carpenter and joiner apprentice and gradually expanding my skills to include everything from plastering to bricklaying, electrics, and plumbing. I’m a practical guy who loves working with wood, and today, I want to share my passion and knowledge through “Have a Go,” a business dedicated to DIY training.
You know, a lot of folks tell me, “I wish I could do what you’re doing, Ben. If only I had the confidence.” My response is always the same: “Have a Go, and just give me a call if you need advice.” DIY can seem intimidating, but that’s where I want to help. I’m dedicated to DIY Training: Building Confidence and Saving you Money.
In my DIY training, I focus on fundamental skills that lay the foundation for more complex projects. We’ll go over choosing the right tools, basics such as mastering a cordless drill to start a screw in wood, through to more complex projects like hanging a door—a task that can save you hundreds of pounds once you get the ‘hang’ of it (sorry!)
So, why “Have a Go”? Because it’s more than a DIY training business; it’s a chance for you to explore your practical side, boost your confidence, and save money on home improvement projects. Dive into my experience, learn the essentials, and before you know it, you’ll be tackling furniture builds and shelf installations with ease. It’s time to follow my lead and “Have a Go” at making your home the way you want it.
