What you’ll learn in our Intermediate DIY Training Course:
- Carpentry Basics: Replacing Skirting board, including cutting angles with a saw
- Electrics basics: Recap changing a fuse and wiring a plug
- Plumbing basics: Recap fixing leaks
- Intermediate electrics: Wiring a socket, including how to run cabling
- Intermediate Plumbing: Fit your own sink, including waste and taps
Plus (subject to time / preference):
- Extra Carpentry: Boxing pipework
- Extra Electrics: Wiring a light fitting and switch
- Extra Plumbing: Fitting water-based appliances
Courses run from 9am – 4.00pm with a break for lunch and two coffee breaks. This may not seem like a long time, but trust us, you’ll be shattered!

Are you ready to take control of your home repairs and improvements? In this follow-up DIY course, you’ll learn the practical skills necessary to tackle a range of extra tasks around the house. Learn which tools to use for carpentry tasks & how to cut perfect angles on skirting board to finish off your newly decorated walls. Locate and diagnose common household leaks and learn how to fit a sink, including taps and waste, equipping you to tackle multiple plumbing emergencies! Get a foundational understanding of electrical work for home maintenance and confidence to handle basic electrical repairs and upgrades safely, knowing when to stop and call for help! Practice all your newfound skills under the guidance of an experienced instructor.
Booking details:
Two day Intermediate DIY courses are run on 2 consecutive days after the Basic DIY Course. If you want to do all four days at once, you can book the DIY crash course here.
In the event that not enough people book on to a particular date, we may have to rearrange courses. We will let you know as soon as possible if this is the case.
On booking, you may choose to pay a deposit, or to pay in full. If you choose the deposit option, your balance must be paid in full at least 7 days before the course starts. Deposits are non-refundable but may be transferred to a different date. If you choose to pay in full and your plans change, please contact us to cancel or reschedule. We require 14 days notice of cancellations and bookings made within 14 days of the course date are non-refundable.
